Global Warming and How It Impacts you

Hayden Warren

Earth’s climate has been changing a lot in the last 100 years and even faster in the past 40, it’s slowly begun to warm. Some people don’t believe in global warming but with the scientific evidence behind it, it’s unequivocal. Big corporations are a huge factor in this, primarily fossil fuels and other products that cause a lot of carbon dioxide to be released into the atmosphere. The earth warming is a major issue as this can raise the sea levels, cause droughts, and even wildfires.

The earth’s atmospheric temperature in 2000 was 0.39 C°(32.7 F°), now, in 2020 it was 1.02 C°(33.8 F°). It may not seem like alot, but 2020 was the warmest year ever recorded, the temperature raised by 1.134 C°. The global warming trend was caused by the “greenhouse effect” warming that results when the atmosphere traps heat radiating from Earth toward space. On Earth, human activities are changing the natural greenhouse. Over the last century the burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil has increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. We could definitely do a lot to deal with global warming and dampen its massive effect. We could switch to alternative energy sources such as solar power, or wind turbines. The burning of fossil fuels is a huge contributor to global warming so electric sources caused by natural ways could fix many things. We could also limit the amount of fossil fuels burned per company.

Everyone can help make an impact for global warming, you could reduce the amount of waste you produce or reduce your carbon footprint. We all are responsible for how the earth is for future generations, and we need to step up our game,
