Are you ready for the Coronavirus pandemic to resolve and for life to get back to normal? Well Pfizer, a pharmaceutical company in the United States, has made a vaccine. The vaccine produces instructions for the cell to make a protein similar to the covid strand, since only part of the protein is made it does no harm to the vaccinated person (CDC, 2021) The protein causes the body to start producing antibodies for coronavirus. Based on evidence from clinical trials the Pfizer vaccine is 95% effective against COVID-19 (CDC, 2021). As of right now the vaccine is only being distributed to health care personnel and long time care facility residents. The vaccine is 2 shots, 21 days apart, in the upper arm muscle. The vaccine is recommended for ages 16 and older. Most common side effects of the vaccine are chills, tiredness, and headaches.
