The Purcell Boys Basketball team had an amazing run in the playoffs. They finished the season with a 18-10 record. To start playoffs the boys beat Marlow for the third time this season to win the District Championship. For the first game in Regionals we played #7 ranked Beggs Demons. This game went into overtime with clutch free throws from Nate Willis. The Dragons pulled out an impressive win in overtime to go to the Regional Championship. The Dragons faced off against #14 ranked Washington Warriors in the Regional Championship. The Dragons came out ready to play and beat them for the first Regional Championship since 1995. Both Washington and Purcell advanced to Area. The Dragons played the #1 ranked Kingston Redskins for the Area Championship to go to state. The Dragons lost but they then faced off against Washington again. They were one game short of making it to the State Tournament when they lost to Washington. The boys basketball team had a very successful season and were an underdog in every playoff game.
